I had requested for a new chimney duct for 10ft and to replace a couple of led lights that had got damaged along with the deep cleaning. He had quoted 700 for the lights and 1500 for the chimney duct almost double the amount as per the rate card for which he said people like him had complained to UC to increase the price based on market rate. We finally landed at 2000 for both these additional services. He came along with another helper to do the work. After the deep cleaning and fixing the lights, he installed the duct. I noticed that it was shorter than I had anticipated. When I raised the issue, he removed the duct and measured it to be less than 9ft. His response to this shortcoming was that "He doesn't manufacture this product and therefore he can't help it". Although I was satisfied with his deep cleaning, it felt that he was trying to cheat and make quick money on the additional services. Beware. I finally had to ask him to take back the duct and now the chimney is non operational. I hope UC takes this up and provides sufficient solution to this issue.
