Sweets for my sweet…sugar for my honey…Aah! The Drifters were spot on with that song when it’s Valentine’s month! But why go the usual route of flowers and supermarket chocolate hampers when you can find a whole bunch of alternate ideas to make your loved one’s day even sweeter. Take a look at the fun line up we’d like to recommend this Valentine’s Day:

Smitten: Mandakini Gupta’s quirky line up of chocolate bars will definitely leave you smitten! Indulge in a twist to the usual Cadbury’s Crackle chocolate bar – the finest cocoa blended with smoked pepper, maldon sea salt and organically grown red rice from Tamil Nadu. Her chocolate repertoire also includes a yummy Pumpkin Seed and Candied Chilli bar, Rocky Road and an Almond, Currant & Sea Salt version.

Kunafa: Syrian and Jordanian chefs bring to India, the best of Middle Eastern Sweets. Flaky layers of pastry, the crunch of hazelnut, almonds, pistachios and walnuts complemented beautifully by apricot, lemon, orange and dates; this is one sweet treat you wouldn’t want to miss! Try their signature kunafa – a type of pastry made with cream cheese and nuts and spices. They also do a wide range of baklava and stuffed exotic dates.

Monster Cakes: Run by sister duo Sadhvi and Kalyani Vaish, this home bakery whips up some monstrously good desserts!

Try out their signature Rainbow layered cake or the decadent chocolate brownies, beautifully packaged in a keepsake tin. Their funky twist to desi treats includes goodies like chocolate fudge and red velvet laddoos. They also do savoury gift packs featuring lavash and their signature fresh olive pate. Currently based out of NCR, Monster Cakes can courier their dry treats all across India.

Earth Loaf: This artisanal chocolate brand combines traditional Indian elements with some of the finest, darkest organic South Indian chocolate. Expect flavours you normally wouldn’t think of – like masala chai bon bons and Gondhoraj and Apricot chocolate bars. They also do cacao tea infusions for those looking to change up their morning or evening “pick me up” doses.

Under the Mango Tree: This all-natural brand of honey comes in a range of unique flavours influenced by the floral nectar gathered by bees. Sourced directly from beekeepers across India, you can enjoy an array of delicately flavoured honey – the Litchi and Desert Bloom honey tops our list!

Blue Tokai Coffee: Ditch the regular sweet treats in favor of a caffeine buzz instead! Blue Tokai works with a network of coffee estates across South India and curates some of the finest coffee in the land.

Your coffee is roasted and ground only after you place the order and comes with the promise of super duper freshness! We love their fruity, oaky Vienna Roast and the nutty Nachammai Estate brew.

Bean Therapy : Since there’s NO such thing as too much chocolate, we went ahead and added another chocolatier to this list! Bean Therapy makes dark chocolate bars, celebrating India ingredients. Saffron Kahwa, Himalayan Rock Salt, and Mango & Black Pepper are just some of the heroes of this chocolatey tale!
