The partner was unresponsive when I was discussing menus and food. 2/3 main dishes were low on salt. Did not clean the kitchen properly such as left the stove dirty. I spent 2 hours in the kitchen with the cook as he was also very slow and his time management was not good. I had to make sure he was doing the work properly and in a timely manner.

I’ve been using Urban Company’s cook service for three months on a monthly subscription, and this was my first experience after my previous chef left the platform. Unfortunately, the service fell short of expectations in several areas. The chef seemed to need more training, both in expanding his knowledge of dishes—such as preparing jowar or ragi rotis—and in understanding the scope of the service. Despite having already paid extra for post-cooking cleanup, he asked whether I wanted the kitchen cleaned. The food quality was also disappointing: the mushroom dish had an excessive amount of masala that caused heartburn, and the onions in the chicken mince kebabs were cut too large, making the kebabs taste unusually sweet. Additionally, the kitchen was left in a complete mess, with utensils piled up in the sink and food equipment almost burned due to cooking on excessively high flame. Overall, this experience did not meet the standards I’ve come to expect from Urban Company.

Subash was great! I asked him to make a Mexican dish and an Indian dish. I was very impressed by both meals made by him. He even made sure to clean up after. Would definitely book with him again.
