I tried two different cooks after subscribing to the monthly plan, and the experience was extremely disappointing. Neither of them demonstrated proper cooking skills. The chapattis prepared were undercooked and poorly shaped, while the chicken dishes were served raw. Additionally, both cooks lacked basic knowledge of the dishes listed in the menu. The entire experience feels misleading, especially after paying for the full plan. Truly disappointing.

Amit is not a competent cook. When he initially joined, he served extremely poor-quality food, including burnt rotis and both paneer and chicken curries that were overcooked and blackened. After receiving training from the company, there was some improvement; however, his overall cooking approach remains problematic. He tends to prepare a single base gravy for all dishes, regardless of the recipe, which often results in inconsistent seasoning — at times excessively salty and at other times lacking salt altogether. In addition to his cooking concerns, he has a tendency to create unnecessary domestic disturbances by making inappropriate or unsettling remarks to other household staff. On one occasion, when another house help resigned soon after him saying something to her, I asked him directly what he had said to her. Instead of responding, he smirked and smiled to himself in a manner that appeared dismissive and inappropriate. This reaction felt deeply unsettling and reinforced my concern about his attitude and conduct. His hygiene standards are also unsatisfactory. He does not clean the stove or utensils properly and frequently cooks in unclean greasy utensils. He often leaves utensils heavily soiled after use. On multiple occasions, he has placed used knives and spoons back into the clean utensil stand without washing them. As I am a vegetarian, I have specifically designated separate utensils for washing any fish or chicken prepared for my husband. Without informing me, he used other utensils for non-vegetarian items and placed them inside my microwave, leaving it extremely dirty and smeared with raw chicken residue in the most horrifying manner. He did not acknowledge the issue or show any remorse and behaved as though he was unaware of the situation and never saw such a big mess which he created. This ongoing behavior reflects a lack of professionalism, hygiene, and accountability. Additionally, he is frequently absent, particularly on Wednesdays in addition to his weekly off on Sundays, and often provides repeated excuses such as being unwell. Initially, considering that he was new to Dubai and may have been financially constrained, I tried to be supportive and even purchased a couple of sweaters for him so he doesn’t fall sick. However, despite this support, his absences and excuses only increased over time. UC was informed about these concerns, yet there has been no improvement. In fact, his conduct has progressively deteriorated. I have found his attitude to be ungrateful, and his overall demeanour at times comes across as unsettling and lacking accountability. Overall, his performance, hygiene standards, reliability, and conduct have been deeply disappointing and increasingly concerning.

Reshma makes amazing Indian food! Her biryani is to die for. Not just that, her bhindi, raita, dal, diet food like chilla, poha are also amazing!!!
