Absolutely Horrendous Experience – Worst Painting Service Ever with UNFINISHED WORK If there was an option to give zero or negative stars, I would. This has been the most shocking and mentally draining experience I’ve ever had with any service provider. From the time of quotation till now (over 2.5 weeks), I’ve faced one issue after another—both with the Urban Company Chennai City team and the assigned painting partner. My house is still upside down because of the chaos caused by their mismanagement, unprofessionalism, and broken promises. 1. Harassment by UC Site Manager: The first person assigned to me, Kirubha, went to the extent of stalking my Instagram profile while on a call discussing quotations. I had to block him and request a replacement immediately. This is blatant harassment. 2. Chennai Site Team: False promises were made by Ajay and Shiva to push me into booking. Once I did, I was left with absolutely no support. Even the quality manager Karthik, who promised to replace the vendor or provide damage compensation, backed out and asked me to cancel the service, leaving me stranded with half-done, poor-quality work. 3. Partner Issues: The vendor assigned was the worst. He: Reached late every day and came unprepared (e.g., brought a basic rolling brush only on Day 3). Never masked any surfaces before painting, causing dust and paint to settle on all household items. His laborers were unskilled and unethical—stealing buckets from my neighbor, calling me at 4:30 AM and arriving at 5:30 AM claiming they were told to work shift hours, scaring my family. Damaged fans, lights, washing machine, and more. Left the house in a complete mess; I had to personally clean and mop repeatedly after their job. Despite multiple complaints and follow-ups with Urban Company, no one took ownership. Every day involved dozens of calls, constant yelling, and emotional stress. All this while dealing with a completely mismanaged project. When I demanded a change in vendor due to poor quality, I was told someone would get back after checking with the team. Despite waiting hours, I got no response. I had to call repeatedly—over 100 times—to chase an update. This has been the worst service experience of my life—deeply disturbing and exhausting. Urban Company needs to take responsibility for: Vendor quality issues Property damage Harassment by their staff And the emotional toll caused If not resolved, I will be pursuing police action for appliance damage and filing a formal complaint for mental harassment and lack of accountability.
