What is a regular clean?

A regular clean is designed for a home that has been recently cleaned. It aims to sanitise high-touch areas and surfaces with an anti-bacterial spray, clean and dust display cases and furniture, polish most fittings and appliances, and mop and vacuum floors. Your home will be left shiny and inviting.

What is a deep clean?

A deep clean is designed to provide an additional layer of cleaning, focusing on tough grime, mould, tile scale, stains and decluttering.

Can I book the service on an on-going basis?

Yes. While booking the service on the app, you will be asked if you want it regularly (weekly, fortnightly or monthly) or once off. Please note that this feature is only available on our app and not the website.

What are add ons?

You can add various items to either the regular or deep cleaning services such as fridge cleaning, dishes, laundry, ironing and many more. Simply go to the addon section during the booking process.

Can I mix and match the types of cleaning?

Yes. For example, you can book bedrooms for a regular clean and bathrooms for a deep clean. You could also book one bathroom for a regular clean and another for a deep clean.

Do I need to be home for my cleaning service?

No. You can arrange access for your cleaning professional without being home. For example, you can leave your key in a secret spot and let the cleaning professional know ahead of time.

How does the satisfaction guarantee work?

Our cleaning professionals guarantee their work. If a professional has not delivered against the scope of work at the high quality you deserve, you have 48 hours to raise an issue. Urban Company will discuss the options with you to help facilitate a resolution from there.

What condition should I leave my house in for a cleaning service?

To get the most out of your clean, your house should be in a relatively tidy state so the professional can concentrate on cleaning and presentation to the high standard we strive for. If your home is left in an untidy state, the cleaning professional or our customer support team may discuss additional time and cost to complete the job to the high standard you deserve.

Will the cleaning professional step on furniture to reach high places?

No. All our cleaning professionals take safety very seriously and will never step on furniture to reach high or inaccessible areas. We can only clean areas that are accessible to your service professional.

Will the cleaning professional move furniture?

We are not equipped to move big pieces of furniture and will only be in a position to move small pieces of furniture, if and where required. If big pieces of furniture are required to be moved to facilitate a cleaning service, you will have to make adequate arrangements to move such furniture. However, if moving any piece of furniture poses a threat to our partner's safety, they will not move such furniture, irrespective of size.

Can I add additional services after I book?

Yes. Simply discuss any requested additions either before or when the professional arrives to deliver the service, and these might be factored in, subject to the cleaning partner's schedule permitting the incremental time taken to perform the additional services. It may be noted that only those services that are offered through the Urban Company website/mobile app can be added on.

Does a regular clean remove mould?

While the cleaning professional will try their best to do so, there is no guarantee that the mould will be removed since a regular clean focuses on providing a hygienic wipe of surfaces, not an intense scrub - that’s what a deep clean is for.

Will all mould in my bathroom be removed in a deep clean?

While the cleaning professional will try their best, the reality is some mould may be deeply ingrained in the grout, which would mean you’d have to remove the grout to remove the mould. Our partners can discuss with you what is achievable when they arrive for your service.

Is any damage caused by the service professional during the cleaning covered by insurance?

Yes. If you find anything damaged during or after the delivery of your service, please contact Urban Company's support team at [email protected] Please note that Urban Company is under no obligation to address a concern/claim for damage that arises after 48 hours of the delivery of the service.

Can I rebook the same professional if I like their service?

Yes. If you rate your service with 5 stars, the next time you book, the app will ask if you want to rebook with the same professional. Simply click on their profile and book them in.

Can I request a professional of a specific gender?

No. Our system does not account for the gender of the professional.
