Churning up a perfect cocktail is an art and if you do it right, there is nothing better than this to impress your guests at your party. Jars of mojitos, sangrias and margaritas are all you need to set a party rolling. You just need to get the measurements right though. So, here we have simplified the recipes for you so that you can be the greatest host of the season! Also, who wouldn’t want to end this year with a bang?

1. Cranberry Apple Sangria



Sangria is essentially an alcoholic beverage with its roots in Spain and Portugal. It is generally made of white wine and an assortment of other fruit juices. Here, we bring to you a refreshing sangria recipe using white wine and fresh apples and cranberries. Give it a try and you will fall in love with this smooth drink!



  1. Canned or fresh cranberries
  2. 2-3 Apples diced and tossed in salt and lemon
  3. 1 bottle white wine
  4. 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  5. 1 cup soda water
  6. 1/4th cup cranberry juice



Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl and cover and refrigerate it for at least an hour or two. Serve with any appetizer and enjoy!

2. The New Year Mojito

Mojito is another alcoholic beverage predominantly constituting Rum as the main ingredient. With its roots in Cuba, this drink is a hit amongst youngsters. It’s soothing, refreshing and gives you a slight hit. This New Year Mojito recipe is a twist to the classic one and is in sync with the beautiful white winter! You will know why!


Let’s look at the process.



  1. Juice of 1 fresh lime
  2. 10-12 mint leaves
  3. 1 tablespoon sugar
  4. 2tablespoons white rum
  5. 1tablespoon coconut rum
  6. 1/4cup canned coconut milk
  7. sparkling waterfor topping



Mix the sugar, lime juice and the fresh mint leaves until they mix uniformly, and the leaves are crushed properly.

Next take rest of the ingredients except the sparkling water in a blender and blend it till smooth. Top with sparkling water.


3. Hot Pumpkin Buttery Rum!

Rum, Butter and Pumpkin! Don’t they all spell winter, comfort and warmth? Well this cocktail is a magical combination of these three ingredients and will instantly warm up the happy souls. Perfect for a party, this drink will surely make you the best host!



  1. ½ cup softened butter
  2. ½ cup brown sugar
  3. ½ cup pumpkin puree (you can make a fresh one or purchase the canned one)
  4. 1 cup spiced rum /(dark)
  5. ½ teaspoon pumpkin spice (available in the market)
  6. 3 cups of boiling water



Add the butter, brown sugar, pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice in a blender and combine till you get a smooth paste. Whisk together the spiced pumpkin butter with the dark rum in a jar. Pour 3 cups boiling, and stir. Serve while it’s still warm.


4. Ginger Scotch Cocktail

This a fun filled twist to the boring cocktails we have. With a dash of ginger and a hint of lemon, this cocktail is surely going to be a huge success amongst your guests. It combines really well with appetizers and is the easiest to make.



  1. Finely grated ginger
  2. ½ cup honey
  3. ½ cup fresh lemon juice
  4. 1 cup water
  5. A pinch of red paprika and a pinch of salt
  6. 174 ml scotch



In a blender puree the ginger and water. Filter out the solid residues and keep the rest. Next add the rest of the ingredients and the strained water in a long jar and serve with ice and enjoy!


5. Caprioska Cocktail

Nothing can beat the simplicity and the richness of this cocktail delight! It is so easy to make and even more refreshing. Absolutely perfect for a party. Lay out this cocktail with some cheese crackers or cheesy French fries and be sure to get your party started on a super charged mode!



  1. 60 ml Vodka
  2. 15 ml Sugar Syrup
  3. Soda water to top
  4. Lime wedges
  5. Ice
  6. Lime wheels to garnish



In a bowl muddle together, the sugar syrup and the lime wedges. To that, add the vodka and ice. Give it a nice stir and top it up with soda water and lime wheels.
