Hair Growth

Rice water is great if you want to reduce hair fall and aid in growth. The amino acids present in it help in the regeneration of hair and aid faster growth of your hair. Additionally, it contains vitamins B, C, and E, which further help in hair growth. The best way it for growth is rinse your hair with it after a wash. Follow the process at least twice a week.

Protects Hair From Damage

Rice water decreases surface friction and improves elasticity. The inositol in it remains in your hair even after rinsing it off and shields your hair from further damage.

Cures Dandruff

Fermented rice water has antifungal properties which work against dandruff and help eliminate it. Use it as a hair mask once or twice a week for a few hours to combat this issue.

Adds Shine and Makes Hair Silky

All you have to do is use rice water as a hair mask, leave it on for 20 minutes, and then wash it off. Follow it up with shampoo and conditioner.

Fermented Rice Water

Fermented rice water enhances the existing vitamins and nutrients levels of plain rice water, thus increasing its benefits. You can use it as a replacement for the plain version. It has anti-dandruff, anti-itch, anti-hair fall properties and helps in oil control on the scalp.

The Guinness Book of World Records has declared Huangluo village in China as “the world’s longest hair village” as its Yao women are known for their long, grey-less, shiny hair. These women use fermented rice water as a shampoo. This natural shampoo is the secret of their shiny black and silky soft hair.

How It Works

Fermentation brings down the pH levels of the rice water and when you use it as a rinse, it restores and balances the pH of your hair.  Also, during fermentation, a substance called ‘pitera’ forms in the rice water, and it is rich in vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and organic acids. Pitera is known to promote cell regeneration and keep your skin and hair healthy.

How To Make It

Take 2 cups of rice; add 2 times more water to it and leave the rice to soak for 20-30 minutes

Pour the water into a glass bottle, seal it and leave in a dark place at room temperature for 2 days

When a sour smell appears, stop fermentation and put it in the fridge to preserve it.
