Be it for terribly cracked heels, or after a long day of standing, walking and running around or simply just some pampering session, traditional feet soaking techniques are always the go to choice.

1. Camphor and Eucalyptus Honey foot soak

Making this soak is easy and simple as it only uses the products that will be there in most homes. Eucalyptus oil is know to have soothed aching body parts externally for over centuries and camphor is a natural coolant. This cool combo is bound to calm your tense feet.  It involves mixing 8 cups hot water, 1 cup honey, 2 cups Epsom salt, 2 Tablespoons almond oil (optional), 6 drops eucalyptus oil, 4 drops camphor oil or 2 teaspoons camphor gel/cream, 4 drops arnica oil (optional) in a mixing jar. Soak your legs in the mix for a stimulating soak.

2. Honey and lemon foot bath

After a long and tiring day, a honey and lemon foot bath is luxury for your feet. Honey attracts and seals moisture to hydrate your feet; while lemon, loaded with citric acid will react to remove dead skin cells. Adding a dab of apple cider vinegar acts as a muscle relaxer and is also anti-bacterial. All it takes is half a cup of honey, one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and one sliced lemon. This is the best option for people with busy schedules and those who often wear piercingly painful heels all day.

For terribly cracked heels, the simplest and easiest solution is Listerine. Difficult and cracked heels can find an astonishing cure with this solution. Listerine removes dirt settled in the cracks of the heels and dead skin cells from your feet; leaving it smooth and beautiful. It is very easy to prepare. Simply add three taps full of Listerine into a bowl of hot water for the mint-perfect pedicure soak.

4. Salt and baking soda foot soak

This can be both a soak and a scrub. Salt happens to be an integral ingredient in many homemade soaks.  A baking soda on the other hand is known to peel of dead cells. Adding amounts of salt and baking soda into a pitcher of water acts as a perfect soak prior to a pedicure or for simply a nice long soak.

If you are someone who sweats a lot or you are an athlete, the traditional vinegar foot soak is what your option should be. It not only helps remove odor but also leaves the feet soft and supple.
