Sabyasachi revealed his Spring Summer 2018 collection on Instagram this week. He’s made a tradition out of this, with his last few seasons’ collections getting launched on his Insta-feed, instead of the runway! The wedding outfits were gorgeous and, as is always the case, will dominate the wedding fashion trends this year.

Here are the Trends we spotted in Sabyasachi’s latest spring summer collection that will inspire the big Indian wedding bridal look this year!
Big Stripes in bold colours for lehengas paired with contrasting tilla work raw silk blouses make for an eye-catching destination wedding outfit. For the Mehendi or Pool party, perhaps?
Styling Tip By Sabyasachi: “The strong graphic look is rain-washed with fluttery organza dupattas in whimsical colours. Wear your hair loose with strong glares, ethnic chandbalis and a multitude of glass bangles for a playful ‘street-couture’ style.”

Just when you couldn’t get enough of florals from the Udaipur collection, Sabya gives us even more with 3 styles of floral outfits!
These are light-weight: perfect for brides! “They have the volume of couture and the lightness demanded by modern times”, says Sabyasachi.
He’s created 29 different prints for these organza saris, in order to preserve silk screen printing in West Bengal. His reasons may be noble, and the mint and yellow versions below are giving us vintage sari goals!

Sabyasachi says, “A definite trend for Spring-Summer 2018 is rustic baroque.” If you’re wondering what this even means, it’s basically pairing ultra-luxurious & dramatic elements with the ordinary. So, the humble khadi & sumptuous silk are found in the same outfit. Printed cotton (cheenth) marries rich embroidery. And sophisticated florals come together with peasant stripes.
In the words of Sabya, “Big precious uncut diamonds and tourmalines are threaded together with corals and turquoise beads to create spectacular neck-pieces and maang tikas that merge serious intent with a whimsical spirit.”
We love it because it’s an alternative to the now popular Navratan (9 gem-stones) necklace, giving us another way to incorporate colourful stones in our bridal jewellery!
