YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST! We broke the news this evening that Virat Kohli & Anushka Sharma are officially married. And just a few hours later, lo and behold! The internet is flooded with photographs from their destination wedding in Italy!
Virat & Anushka announced their wedding to the world with these 2 gorgeous photos on their respective Instagram accounts, with the caption –
“Today we have promised each other to be bound in love for ever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you.This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans & well wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey.”
First up…a VIDEO of Anushka Sharma make her bridal entry in the beautiful Sabyasachi lehenga!

Anushka & Virat were a Sabyasachi couple – they wore only Sabyasachi outfits at almost every single function!
For the wedding day, Anushka wore a pale pink lehenga with Renaissance embroidery in vintage English colours embellished with silver-gold metal thread, pearls and beads.
Here’s what Sabyasachi had to say about it –
“Anushka was to get married in Florence! And her lehenga just had to fit in. So we chose a colour that would blend in with the whimsical Tuscan surrounding rather than stand out. It was blush pink with tropical flora and fauna, hand embroidered in silk floss. Exotic birds & butterflies were rendered with the finest quality needle craft. It took 67 karigars, 32 days to complete the ensemble.”

What Anushka Wore – Sabyasachi Velvet Sari
“For her engagement, Anushka wanted to wear a Sabyasachi velvet saree. And we made it in our signature Gulkand Burgundy. It was hand-embroidered using miniature pearls and the finest quality zardosi and marori. She wore a stunning uncut diamond and pearl choker with matching studs. The entire look was complemented with kohl-rimmed eyes, red roses and our now iconic micro dot bindi.”

Stage decor goals!
The decor for the evening engagement party by Devika Narain & Company is STUNNING! Half wreaths is a hot decor trend this year, and their stage backdrop was full of them!

What Anushka Wore – Boho Lehenga
For her mehendi, Anushka wanted a boho look full of bright colours. Hot pink was her favourite. The Sabya team created a graphic lehenga in fuchsia pink and Indian orange. It was hand-printed by the famed Calcutta block printers and hand-embroidered with gota and marori. Artists from The Sabyasachi Art Foundation rendered a beautiful sixties pop print and it was silk screen printed, hand woven Indian silk. Anushka accessorised herself with earrings from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry collection, a stunning pair of jhumkas crafted in 22k gold with Iranian turquoise, tourmalines, uncut diamonds and Japanese cultured pearls. Custom juttis in hand woven brocade and zardosi completed the look.
What Virat Wore – Khadi Kurta with Nehru Jacket
Virat opted for a signature khadi kurta churidaar with our classic fuchsia pink textured silk Nehru jacket detailed with the Sabyasachi House blazer buttons. A custom tan leather jutti with a zardosi crest was created for the ensemble.
Like we revealed in our previous post, The Wedding Filmer is behind the videography for their wedding. Stories by Joseph Radhik is the photography team, while Devika Narain, along with Shaadisquad, decorated and planned the entire wedding. What we particularly loved is that the power couple picked the dream team of Indian weddings! These are all the “best in the business” of course, but they’re all a couple of years in the business. They are the new stars in the wedding industry. And what a huge secret this dream team managed to keep to themselves!
The wedding functions wrap up with one last event tonight in Italy. Post this, there are 2 expected wedding receptions to be held back in India. If this invite is to be believed, the Delhi reception will take place on 21st December:
…while the Mumbai reception date is rumoured to be 26th December.
